Pin & Tack Design Team Call

(This is a sticky post and will stay at the top until design team members are picked.)

If you love to create and share your creations, I invite you to join my design team for a monthly inspiration challenge. It will always be anything goes, so you can create whatever you want! All skill levels welcome and no previous DT experience required.

It's going to be just for fun and super easy, but, of course, there are a few requirements:

- Must have an active blog, which means you post at least once a week.
- Create one project a month. This project must be new and never published.
- Post about this challenge twice a month: one for your project and one as a midway reminder.
- Commit to the team for 4 months. Term will run from September 1st to December 31st.

At the end of the term, DT members will be entered into a random draw to win a goody bag from the Pin & Tack shop. To be eligible, DT member must be 18 years or older, have submitted four projects and created eight posts about the feature.

If you would like to join the design team, please send me an email to pinandtack@gmail.com with your name and blog address. The DT call will end on August 31st (or sooner.)

Lady Anne's Paper Crafts: Friday Sentiments - Encouraging & Corners

This is my first creation as design team member for Lady Anne's Paper Crafts, a Ning group that offers challenges in a variety of themes for every day of the week. Everyone is welcome to join us and play, so head on over for inspiration & crafting fun!

I'm a part of the Friday Sentiments Team, so every creation will have a sentiment along with a "twist." The twist for this week is corners while the sentiment is encouranging.

I made the photo corners by using an easy corner bookmark tutorial, then jazzed them up with flowers, ribbons & star buttons (which I removed the shanks from, so they would lay flat.)

Relax

I really tried to make this card "masculine." However, my feminine side definitely won out! I just couldn't resist adding flowers, bling & ribbons.

The corner detail is actually a corner bookmark that can easily be removed. (See photo below.)

It's a wonderful way to give a little gift with your card and add extra detail to it.

Another addition of using those green paper scraps along with stickers that I've had for, well, uh, a very long time.

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #29: Random Word Inspiration

At Tuesday Alchemy, we have a new challenge that will be played once a month now. It's Random Word Inspiration!

Three words are randomly picked from a word generator, then you can use one, two or all three words to inspire your project.

The words for this week are bee, guitar & lunch. Can you guess which one I chose? Ha!

Once again, we have lots of sponsors, so there are more chances to win by sharing with us!

Robyn's Fetish joins us again this month, offering up 5 digital stamps. To see their images in use, definitely check out Tuesday Alchemy's design team creations on the blog.

I am excited to have Birdie Brown join us this week by providing 3 digital stamps to one lucky crafter. The little bee image on my creation was courtesy of Birdie Brown. Isn't it super cute?

{PIN}spirational Challenge #22: Photo Inspiration - Mermaid

Join us at {PIN}spirational Challenges for lovely, whimsical fun! Every week a new photo from Pinterest is used for inspiration. This week is this adorable little mermaid. Although, the photo appears quite simple and to the point, there are lots of different ways you can go about it.

What do you see that inspires you? Whatever it is, I'd love for you to share it with us at {PIN}spirational Challenges!

Our sponsor is Michelle Perkett, who was very generous to provide the digital stamp that I used in this creation.

Her mermaid is gorgeous, whimsical & just wonderful to work with!

Have Fun & Create

For this card, I decided to use write my own sentiment - Well, at least half of it. Mostly because I didn't want to search for the letters in my mess of alphabet stickers.

You see a lot of handwritten text on scrapbook pages, but rarely on cards. What's up with that? I definitely creates a more personalized project.

Do you ever write your sentiments? Or do you stick with crafting tools & embellishments?

I'd also like to give a shout out to Robyn's Fetish, who generously supplied me with the crayon box digi. They will be our sponsor for an upcoming challenge at Crafty Creations.

Nature

I am on a mission. What mission is that? Well, it's a mission that every crafter is continuously on: Using up your stash!

I grabbed papers from my green scraps drawer & this is what I cam up with. Masculine cards are always difficult for me, but using green & natural twine made this card easy peasy for me.

What have you made with your scraps lately?

Splish Splash Summer Fun

Happy Friday, everyone!

The temperature in Oregon has finally cooled down, so you know what that means?

Yard work . . lots and lots of yard work.

We've let our yard go since it was too hot to be outside - not mention that there was SO much smoke from fires nearby that it wasn't healthy to breath the air.

This weekend will be spent pulling weeds, cutting down plants & mowing the grass. Of course, after that is done, I will be crafting away.

What are your plans?

O Is For Orange

Peachy-orange -- feels like spring!

Oh, the beauty of orange!
With such a range of shades, it's definitely a favorite color of mine.
Do you enjoy orange? If not, what color do you like?

D Is For Dogs

Wag the Dog
I am quite grateful that we don't greet each other this way!
A handshake, hug or simple "Hello" suits me just fine :)

So Sweet

Good morning, everyone!

It has been SO hot here and smoky.
They keep warning everyone to avoid going outdoors,
especially if you have any kind of lung issue.

Yesterday, the smoke was so thick that you couldn't see the sun, but it was still over 100-degrees!

I'm starting to look forward to the seasons changing.
I want mild weather!
And it is so pretty when the leaves start to change.

B Is For Beer AND Bike

When I saw this photo, I just had to share it!
Could you have ever imagined this? A bike with a keg - Yowzer!

Album Swap: Spoiler Alert For Lady Anne

I am a part of a fabulous Ning group called Lady Anne's Paper Crafts. It's a fun place to join in challenges along with swaps.

This album was created just for Lady Anne for an album swap. In return, she is sending me an album that she created, which I will share with you when I receive it (of course.)

It's my very first swap of any kind. I'm super excited!

I have SO much purple that I decided this album would feature that royal color. The pages have places where Lady Anne can add her own photos. It can be tied closed with grosgrain ribbon.

Also, if she wants to add more pages, she can do so quite easily.
This album was submitted to these challenges. See below for details, so you can share, too!

Let's Party!

As I previously mentioned, I was the winner at Sassy Studio Designs. I picked two of their super sassy digis. This is the second one.

If you'd like to see my other choice, definitely take a little trip to here.

I Is For Ice Cream

This is my own creation. It's plain ol' vanilla ice cream in a sugar cone (Vegan, of course.)
I added peanut butter and homemade chocolate to it.
I don't prefer plain ice cream. What's your favorite toppings or add-ins for ice cream?

Precious Baby

I rarely make baby cards because I don't know a lot of people that are having babies. Most of my crew has already had their children.

Since I have these fantastic embellishments, I decided I might as well. Maybe someone I know will know someone, so they can use it.

C Is For Clothes Pins

Clothes pins are my specialty. Here is what I was doing on Saturday.
It didn't take me all day, but there is drying time, so I can get other things done.

What did you do on Saturday?

Hello, My Name Is Winner

I recently was picked as a winner from Sassy Studio Designs, so I had my choice of two digital stamps. This card features one of them.

I'm not very skilled at coloring, so I usually just print out the digital stamp and add details to it, such as the orange skirt & twine belt that she sports.

Are you good at coloring in digis? What's your medium of choice?

See below for details. Also, don't forget to join us at Tuesday Alchemy for a game of BINGO!
